SHOALING brings together work by 15 artists and makers from Red Herring Studios (based in Portslade) in the glorious Regency Town House. Red Herring is an artists’ cooperative that has been providing working space for artists and other initiatives around Brighton & Hove for 39 years. SHOALING is the first collectively curated exhibition of the studios’ current iteration. The exhibition unites and explores the range of practices and approaches represented by the group, celebrating the richness and diversity of ideas and media and responding to the building.
